Fear Assignment

My hypothesis for my fear assignment experiment is that people will either be hesitant, scared to try the treats   I bring, or if they're more out going, they will most likely not be phased at all.

After my Fear experiment:

I ended up buying candy to eat that contained various kinds of bugs. I ate one with a cricket in it and it was very....interesting. When I presented in class I found it very interesting that even though I had 3 extra pieces of candy, pretty much no one wanted them.

Answering some questions...

1. The experiment I responded to the most was the one Erika did, ( I believe that's her name). It was where she did her acting exercise with another classmate where they say and repeat things back and forth to each other.

2. I responded to it so strongly because it was a pretty cool moment. Watching the two talk back and forth and the way they both reacted was very moving. You could feel the whole class being pulled into the moment and it was a very strong feeling.

3. It made me think of how I could have made my project a little more serious, however I did enjoy what I did because I had never tried something like that, even though it was mostly sugar, it was the idea of the bug being in there which made it weird.

The Important Things

Playing video games, and creating games is probably one of the most important things in my life. I love talking to people about games I enjoy, and I also like trying to explain to them how games are made. I have immersed myself among a lot of gamer friends who all enjoy playing video games. The friendships games create, and the adventures everyone can enjoy from them always has inspired me to one day partake in creating a video game. Thinking about the amount of time I have to accomplish my goal of being a game designer never really bothers me simply because I have plenty of time to accomplish that goal and I'm making progress.
I recently have started meeting up with a small group of friends and we're bringing together artists, and programmers, and our goal is to create games together as an outside of school thing. This is the type of thing I have put my time into recently along with playing games, and doing school work. The only true limitations I have at the moment is school, and money. I drive over 1 hour to school, and over an additional hour to get back and its very time consuming, as well as expensive because of gas. The time and money adds up and over the last couple years it is taking a lot of energy out of me. I actually recently transferred to IU Bloomington for the next spring semester to negate the time issue, and make it easier for me to have a job.
My personal true passion was always to create video games. I've learned a lot over the last few years of what I really like to do and so far my favorite thing is to create levels. Creating the 3D art assets, and textures I found really tiring and overall I don't enjoy doing those things. However, given some assets to work with I love going crazy and putting something together. I don't do this very often, mostly only for my game class. What gets in my way would be my own playing of video games, I strongly believe to be a great game designer you have to play games, but I think that I play them too much sometimes and it gets in my way of making some great work as well. If I start scheduling my time a little better, I probably will see some improvement in this area. To show what I can do when I actually section off some time in my weekend and work on stuff, I built up this little area in my game level for class within a couple hours.
